Interview with Giovanna Reeves

Tell us a little about yourself and your writing goals.

A. I am Giovanna Reaves, but I also go by Gia. I started writing about six years ago and I love it. I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon. I want to write as many stories as a can about finding your one, two, three (as many) true loves you can.

 Are you a planner or a pantser? A. I’m a pantser.

I have tried plotting, but it does not work for me at all. I usually know how they will meet. My plans usually change quite often from names to the plot sometimes in the middle or close to the end of writing the story.

Do deadlines motivate you or block you? How do you deal with them?

A. I say both. Having a deadline keeps me focus but it can also be stressful if I get behind because of real life events.

If you could tell your younger writing self anything, what would it be?

A. Start writing the first time an idea sparks in your mind. Even if you never publish that book still write it. Self-doubt will come but don’t let it stop you from tapping into your talent to write books that some will not like but many others will love.

What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

A. It used to be Rocky Roads until I found out I was allergic to nuts, now vanilla.

Thank you for taking the time to answer these questions.
